Well folks... nothing like a weekend alone in the shop.

Finally got the front & rear disk mounts just right. And they survived a pretty good test session at the local state park. Wahoo!
Still haven't figured out how to post photos, but they are in the gallery page under "Will"

Check it out.

posting gallery pics.

Go to your gallery
Choose a pic (click on it to open it big)
Right-click your mouse over the pic
Scroll to and click on "properties"
A dialog box will show
High-light the web address for the pic here (NOT on the internet address bar)
Copy that link to your clipboard (right-click on the high-lighted link and click copy

now go to the forum and start posting a message
click on the icon (fourth from the left that looks like a teeny tiny picture. a tag wil pop into your message area.

YOu need to then paste the link from your gallery (right mouse click, paste) in-between the two ] [
brackets.

Then when you upload your message it should look work.

Thanks Angus!

Folks, let me know what you think. Do y'all think I could get away with trimming that front flange away from the axle? BTW, I thrashed it Saturday with no problems. Yeehaw!

Nice one Will - IS is so much better to mod in many respects. Is that JB Weld used to bond the alloy.

Here is a link to mine, (8" rotor, postmount caliper):

Dan,
I used Brand-X epoxy on the front... not so great. The JB Weld on the back was incredible stuff. Much higher quality and more consistent texture.
If you look at the close up of the rear mount you can see a huge improvement in the casting.
