Hi Guys,
I'm thinking of getting some carbon crosslinks from ediscountbike. I have a proflex4000 & thought they'd look pretty sweet on the front with the matching carbon swingarm on the back.

I have a problem however, my bike is currently in Sydney Australia & I'm stuck in melbourne!!! So I can't measure the head tube to see if the forks will fit!!! The forks ediscountbike have listed on ebay seem to be the tall verson. I don't think these will fit but would love to grab a pair if they do. Can anyone help me out with a headtube measurement or just a "yay" or "nay" on the forks compatibility??

Also, if I did get a pair of tall carbons would I be able to swap my smartshock from my existing elt fork onto the tall one??

I nearly forgot, I think my frame is a small or medium, definitly not a large.

Another thought-
Could I just use a whole heap of spacers to fit the tall fork to my smaller frame?? Or is this just silly & would it mess too much with the bikes geometry??

a tall will fit with no effect on the gemetry of the bike but the handlebars will be higher,and you will need a whole stack of spacers.Iff you are determined to get a carbon kep lookin on ebay or bite the bullet and get a normal length non carbon ith nr2...I always forget if that if the elite or expert.Ashock from a tall will not fit a normal length crosslink...or visa versa

they are all tall or smarts tho unless i am losing it [smiley=worry.gif].Been hacking around on the net all afternoon,new laptop ,but i just dont like xp,its like an overprotective mother!.Might at last be able to see what i am doing my old computer has a very blurry screen

Hi Guys

Still no sign of standard length carbons from ediscount. I'll probably buy a "tall" pair & just use a stack load of spacers to fit them. My frame is a little small for me so the extra bar height might be a good thing. I would love to get a larger frame but there's not a lot of K2/Proflex available in Australia. I shouldn't have got rid of my old 955 world cup frame!!!

I'm also toying with the idea of getting some chubby LT forks as I'll already be paying about $80AUD for postage so I might as well make it worth while! Is anyone running Chubbies on their Proflex 4000???

I guess I'm impatient! I just won a pair of tall chubby LT's on ebay from ediscount for US$79.

Now it's time to put their shipping to the test & see if they'll send them to Australia & for how much!!

I bought a set of Carbon Crosslinks from a shop in Florida a month ago. It cost $33US to have the fork shipped USPS to Australia.

The fork took two weeks to get here, so it may be worth suggesting USPS as the postage method if you don't mind waiting.

Ediscount are shipping the chubby to me for $45US. A bit steep for postage but still worth while.

Hello,the question that a have is probably old news for you guys but thats why i'm asking you

I have the noleen carbon crosslink and i was wondering if i could use a different shock then the noleen shock it self.Has it been done with succes, mounting a rokshox,manitou etc...shock into the crosslink fork.

Hi another question about the forks, would the geometry change if i put the fork on my giant xtc 2?I mean would i lift up the front a lot?

It may seem that the crosslink forks are longer then the rockshocks you have on your bike. But it may be safe to “upgrade” to the x-link. Before buying the fork measure the distance from the hub centre to the top of you crown. If this measurement is 17.75 inches or close enough to that amount. You won't have a problem. I would also check to see if you see any reinforcement around the head tube. It is important to check because installing an X-link is like putting a double crown fork on your bike (the head tube needs to be strong) If by chance you had your eye on a long version on e-discount you should probably change you mind It is better to buy the regular size and not the long for your bike. There are just too many long versions on e-discount. The only reason someone would buy them and that is for parts. The amount of spacers that you would be forced to use would ruin the simplicity of the design.

Thanx ionit, i just looked at my fork and center hub top top of the fork crown is 18" so thats no problem.
But the standard version is anly suiteble for head tubes max length 130mm the tall once from 131-160 mm. My headtube is 131mm.so what do you think
