Replacement for a Nr-4
« on: August 04, 2004, 10:18:22 pm »
My rear Nr-4 has finally given up and died.  This question has probably been asked a million times over but what can I replace it with?

Also, what is the max & min size shock that can be fitted to a 4500 proflex?

A friend of mine has offered me his Manitou QR rear shock, 200mm length - will this fit at all?  Has anyone had any experience with this shock?

Any help/suggestions much appreciated.

fox, 5th element, risse etc.  - most any shock that can handle a 7.785 - 8.5" (preferably 8.25") eye2eye and is in use for a 2.3 - 2.4 / 1 ratio - depends mostly on what kind of riding you do.  the fox rc's work quite well.

OP

there's several options in pics in the galleries - i've got pics of a 5th element and a fox talas.

4500 rider,
If  you would like, I could sell you the stock Noleen shock off the back of my Oz. It has less than 25 miles on it. I replaced with a Risse Astro 5 right away.
I am not sure what model Noleen it is, but the spring (black) is stamped NB2-450.

It has the correct bushings. As I understand it, the 4500 and the Oz are identical, right?

let me know.
