Mine is a Way Big (20") and if you look at the extended seat tube you'll notice it longer.

Yes you are correct but Fitzroybikeco hasn't got an original stem on his frame so he can't compare that.  ;)

Hi guys, I actually have the bike now and have stripped all the parts. I have an original girvin fork with the stem so I will take some pics and upload. Took it for a ride when it landed and size is fine. Think it's a large. Needs a gooooood polish.

cheers, russell

Hi Guys

Here is a pick of the bike with my disk brake girvins. Question now is should I go disk brakes for this for the final build?

50/50!

Disc brakes are great and work so well and require so little maintenance (in my experience) that I'd always go for them from pure simplicity and to make my ride the most efficient bike possible.

but............if I wanted a retro ride...................I'm not so sure.............

But then again you've Disco'd those Vectors, so you may as well use them!

(But I'd want a better shock on them than the friction shock)

So, have you used them in anger with disc brakes on another bike?

There were some concerns in the day that the tubing wouldn't handle the forces..........................

That's deffo a Large frame.

Hi Col

yeah I am not to sure on the disk brakes, I picked these forks up as is and they had been modified to take a fox vanilla rear shock.....

I have XTR V Brakes that are the right vintage so they may end up doing the job. I have these girvins on my Kona at the moment, with Vbrakes and they do the job.
