and i am completely bewildered that i can not find any elastomers...

Can anyone assist?

Go to Noleen J6 and upgrade to coilover shocks. You'll be glad you did. It's a whole new bike with coils.

I did see that the Brits use Land Rover bushings of some kind. Cheap and worth a try if you can find out which ones.
