nice job on the crosslink disc setup.

yeah, you have to be careful on the inside edge pending the type of hub that is on the wheel and the distance to the rotor and parts.
i made my end caps from some plastic table leg ends that i picked up at a hardware store - cut them in half and trimmed to fit.

very nice -

congrats

Thanks for that OP,
I spotted some waste segregation bins were made of 1"x1" square tube on the rig i've been on, each open end with a plastic cap on. Liberated 20 of them to cut in half and trim down  like you say.
Originally contacted a few companies on the net for cap ends, places that turned out to have minimum orders of 5000 at UKŁ32/1000.
One guy set up a link for a smaller order but wanted UKŁ10 for 10 and Ł10 p+p.

That is a quality xp-8 you should be chuffed  ;D  and the disc mount for the rear is sweet,  i know who i'm going to hassle when i want discs for my xp-8  ;D ;D

One question though Is there much of a weight penalty for discs over the original V's

Cheers Xp8-er

Thanks for that mate!
Unfortunately yes there is! ???
Each caliper/rotor/mount is approx 400g for Juicy 5's  :-\
Bit less for the Ultimates (333g with 160mm rotor) but still not as light as a good set of canti's
Magura HS-33's hydraulic rim brakes come in at 272g
A lot of it for me is that I enjoy "fettling" in the garage so knocking up the front and back mounts is just part of the fun ;D

Keep up the good work ,  and Keep posting the pics .  Watching your progress is way more interesting than watching the soaps ;D.  its like a good book you want to know how its going to end but at the same tiime you don't want to actually  finish :'( :'(

Can't wait for the next chapter....
