Return of the Crosslink disc mount -
«

I've been getting quite a few notes lately regarding building a crosslink disc mount.
http://idriders.com/proflex/galleries/Old_Proflexer/Front%20Disc%20Mount%20Crosslink%20Finished%20Side%20Closeup.jpg
directions are in the how to section and a few pics of my rear plates are in my gallery. wouldn't recommend a disc mount for the aluminum forks but i've built and used them successfully with no issues (and it's been years of use and abuse) but any time you modify the original equipment, you're at risk for some type of failure and and taking engineering matters into your own hands.
please note the inspiration for my design sent to me by an engineer -

i went a completely different direction for the mount opting to create a bonded mount and distribute the load up the leg with some heavy aluminum. the QR20 i use was suggested by one of the mechanics up at Rock n Road (a local bike shop) after we looked thru most of Marz's mounting units - they ordered them for me.
