Op,yep mine has a 97 but was released and sold in 98 though I bought mine in 99,I'm pretty sure they weren't available till 98,the one in the picture has the finish of an Oz (same as my son's Oz,my 4500 has a completally different finish)and was available in 99,probabaly produced in 98 hence can't be 96
