By the looks, I would say it is a Waybig. I think a Large would be classified as 18".

My Large 957 and Oz both have a 23" toptube, which turns out is perfect for me, but the x57 frames are measured a bit different. I am 5'11".

The 20" measurement I suspect is the distance from bottom bracket to top of toptube. I can't imagine that it would be toptube length.

Thanks for the info...it is rather comfy for my own lanky 6'3" frame

I stripped the bike down the other night and was up till 3am cleaning and polishing most of it (the Girvin forks look fantastic)
It looks really good to my eyes and I'm now doubting the need for a repaint, the paint is chipped and scratched here and there but it's okay, although I don't like the 'Beast' script on the top tube and will try to somehow get it off because it looks so cheap...it makes the whole bike look like something purchased from K-Mart

Changing to disc brakes now looks like a big job so it will wear the Maguras for a while longer which is okay as they do work incredibly well

I think you can see a bit-o-gold in front so GDT rear and ODS front. Does't the GDT have a floating piston?

Can't get enough of my RBack frame. That rear shock lasted for about 10 years. And still got it recouvered after a brief ICU internment. Can't wait for the next 10 years.

Hello everyone. Im new to the proflex K2 group. I picked up what seems to be a 1994 954 off of craigslist this past week for $65. Was looking for a beginner trail bike after mainly riding a single speed trek conversion through college as a commuter. It is unmarked but based on the research I did on this website it looks like a 954. Came without rear elastomer so I used an old stiff suspension fork spring and wrapped it with an inner tube and tied it off with a couple plastic zip ties (found this method used online). It provides maybe 1/2 to 3/4 inch travel. Its unclear to me how much travel the original elastomer may have provided. Had to have LBS replace rear shifter cable and new chain because it would just not shift correctly (I think whoever built it used wrong size chain). Otherwise everything else works great. Looks like someone tried to do a rebuild because there doesn't seem to be many original components other than the rear derailleur shimano deore xt, Sun rims. Shifters are gripshift, brakes are Avid V brakes, Hubs are T-gear? and fork is Judy SL (maybe a little too soft for me). This is one vintage frankenbike that I look forward to beating up.

My old bike passed on to the Mrs, cheap but strong ally frame great geometry.
