The carbon fork I picked up is a bit of a fit problem for me.  At least it is the short one on the top end.  I am presently machining a longer trunnion bushing for my front shock.  Works fine on the road for now.

The fork is the standard carbon CS, and all the parts are there.
Of course this looks the fork for the way big frames, and the shims should be under the top link.
I had to put some in mine to raise it a bit (I have the regular carbon fork with the large frame). I don't like to put too many shims...

Hummm... that just reminds me of the NOS carbon fork with the smartshock I have somewhere. I don't know what I bought it for in the first place, but I'm sure I will make good use of it...

Sure are a lot of Proflex up for sale right now.  Craigslist locally has a few, and the asking prices aren't stupid high.  Wonder if I could score that Beast for 150

Greetings from New Zealand. Just bought a Vector 2 fork for my Kirk after falling in love with my friend's fork. The Urethane is puss and I see RDS store has gone :(
Anyone got a COR spring or other shock they can sell me?
Cheers.

Is it an oil shock or a grease shock(friction). A cor spring will not work with a grease shock

If all else fails, Risse racing makes a great shock for the Vector 2. Just make sure they damp it really lite. Changing oil viscosities later is a cinch.

You can still buy the OEM upgrade shocks from Noleen too.  http://shop.noleenj6.com/category.sc;jsessionid=992D641B59A4665305610F8766B502E3.qscstrfrnt02?categoryId=7

All these Proflexus on sale are tempting me to become a restorer/reseller but that would be crazy

Bought another Proflex today.  A second green Beast for 150 usd.  Tires are rotten and the elasto-squishies are fubar so I'll be sourcing some springs for the rehab.  Everything else works very well.  It appears to have never been off road in the mud as the rims aren't even grooved.  Tear it down, lube and reassemble should about do it.  Well, the adjustable stem and the tractor seat have to go as well as the crappy seat post.   ;D ;D ;D  I'll be building this one for my nephew to ride.  That should help him to decide if he wants to invest in a high-zoot new boinger bike or just buy this one.

The elastomers from ladies comfort saddles do well in that type of spring stack, apparently:

You might also check out auto parts stores or industrial supply co's.  http://www.acecontrols.com/PDF/tubus-catalog-0109.pdf

I retired out of the plastics industry and my opinion of the Proflex MCU's is that they were originally a mistake when someone didn't turn on the autoclave.  Urethane resin, once activated, will experience outgassing and the way those pretty clear pieces are produced is by subjecting them to vacuum to pull out all the gases.  Not enough vacuum or none at all will result in the resin/catalyst mix boiling over in a foamy mess that normally gets tossed in the dumpster.

When designing a plastic product for a specific app, various additives or resin concentrations will result in different durometers as well as chemical and environmental resistance.  We would add cyasorb to resist the effects of UV rays which break down pretty much all plastic.  Too much Cyasorb resulted in a poor final cure and too little would allow swifter breakdown in sunlight.  My original 1995 squishies lasted ten years with little to no attention.  The replacements hardened on the bike and the spares melted on the shelf.

The knucklehead has the forks installed incorrectly. ;D ;D
Talk about the dreaded J-Path blues. :D :D  I bet he hates this bike. ;D ;D ;D ;D

I took some measurements on my Way Big 4000 and I think this guy's problem is that he has the Way Big Carbon Crosslink and he's trying to use it on a Large frame, and with a standard sized front shock. The Way Big-specific fork has longer legs and uses a front shock that's over 9" I2I. I emailed him about it, with specific measurements, and he seemed to concur that the fork legs were the Way Big size, but that there was no issue as this is exactly the way his other bike is set up...oh well, can't blame me for trying ;-)
