Pro-Flex Reptile Assistance
« on: February 12, 2004, 08:23:05 am »
I have been searching the net for information to repair some bikes.  I own a service business in Clearwater, FL.  One of my customers, a national moving company, damaged 2 Pro-Flex Reptile bikes in transit.  Local repair shops don't have a clue and won't touch them.

I am not a bicycle technician but am very adept.  If someone would kindly supply me some information on this issue I'll be able to get two riders back on their bikes.

I am not sure of the proper nomenclature for the parts involved.  I'll describe as best I can.  I do have photo's I can email.

Behind the seat at the upright section of the frame that the seat slides into a bolt is attached there and then to the frame that goes over the rear wheel.  This bolt goes through a yellow plastic resin type bushing/cushion/pad.  The yellow pad is covered with a flexible black accordion type boot.

I need to replace this yellow piece and the boot that goes over it on both bikes.

The name on the frame of the bikes says Pro-Flex Reptile.  Both are yellow bikes and the same size.  Can anyone give me any guidance on how to proceed, where to find parts, or what might be substituted to yield a quality repair?

It is most appreciated.  To reply via email please remove -nospam from the address.  My name is John Polgar.  Fax is 727-443-6483 and office phone is 727-447-7086 but since email is free go ahead and use that :-)  I check it several times during the day when in the office.

Thank you all very much for this forum and the website.  It makes it possible for riders to get aid when needed even if in this indirect route.

Sincerely,
John Polgar

Have a late 1990's K2 Proflex Reptile Mt bike in very good shape but it needs a rear bushing kit or also referred to as an elastermer kit. Any ideas on where to find replacement parts? I have some leads but they're drying up bc of this particular model and that K2 replacement parts are very diificult to find. Will contact Mean Wheels. Thx
