Fast Fred & other Schwalbe Tires on ediscount

Hey Guys. ediscount is blowing out Schwalbe tires. The seem to go for between $10 and $13 each. I just picked up 3 Fast Fred light tires for $38.14.
I probably could have got them for $30 if I had been more patient. They have some Light Albert and some road tires too.

Trevor, I've been eyeing those but would like to hear first hand how the full knobbies perform. Have you used them in the past? I have a set of the semi knob Schwalbes that work really well in the right conditions. <400 grams too.

I see-the full knobs are their Ralph tire and they no longer have the other full knobbies I had been looking at. The Ralph looks a little too closely spaced for mud.

I haven't tried them yet but I figured, for that price...
I have read a lot about the Fast fred's being the lowest rolling resistance. I can't wait to try them. It will be interesting to see how they are in mud. I am not expecting much in sloppy conditions but they are probably better than the smoke/dart hardcore tires I usually use!
I want to try the continental twister supersonic. I'll have to keep an eye out. From the <save some weight> forum on mtbr.com they seem to say that the Nokian nbx are very grippy and light tires at 470 grams. I haven't tried them either... choices, choices...
I'll let you know how the Fast Fred's turn out. They are supposed to be about 350 grams and I am going to use them with 90 gram panracer greenlight tubes.

Trevor,
thanks for notifying us about the Schwalbe deal. I have been using the Black Shark f/r 2.1 combo on Blue Crush and they work pretty well, but not quite as well as, (you prob. don't want to hear this) the panaracer dart/smoke combo that I had used for over 10 years. (new tires every so often, of course)
the Fast Fred's look interesting, but its too bad ediscount only has the 2.0's. I would like to try the 2.3's myself.
thanks again for the info.

Hey Dennis. I like the regular Smoke/Dart combo. they are da [smiley=bomb.gif] (a little heavy though). The hardcore version is great in hardpack but they are VERY, VERY squirelly in mud. The Hardcore version actually have a blue tint... they would look cool on your bike. I would give you mine when I get the schwalbe's but they are starting to dry rought now and I wouldn't trust them too much longer. [smiley=worry.gif]
No prob for the info. I keep track of a lot of stuff on ebay and post stuff I find if I think someone might be interested.
