How to properly measure frame size?
« on: July 05, 2016, 11:55:00 pm »
Hey fellas!

So like the title says, what is the proper way to measure the 855 frame? I did a little research and all I can find is measure from the top of the seat tube down to the middle of the crankset or middle bottom bracket. I'm not sure if this is correct with the way our frames are designed. My measurement shows 22" and I thought they only made 855s up to 20". Help my poor soul lol.

You need to measure the length of the top tube from center head tube to center seat tube. On the 855, Medium, large and way big frames all have the same stand over height but different length top tubes. You can easily spot a way big frame as it has an extended seat tube compared to the medium and large. The small has a completely different frame to all the others and is easily distinguished by the rear top shock bolt that goes through the frame tube rather than the gusset below as on the other three size frames.
A frame size chart is in the archive section to compare your top tube measurement.
Hope this helps

Perfect, thank you Spokes! I wasn't able to find the Archives section, I must be a little slow today lol. But I think I maybe have stumbled upon a Way Big because my Seat Tube looks quite extended in comparison to others bikes. Thanks again Spokes!

Yes it's a way big. The medium and large measure 20" bb to top of seat tube and the way big measures 22".

Top tube length :
Medium - 554mm
Large - 579mm
Way big - 592mm
