On June 23 I will be leaving on a road trip to go to a mini meeting. While this may not sound too bad I will be driving my 1975 Morris Mini 6000 miles round trip. Going from Atlanta Georgia, cross country to Seattle, then up into Canada to the meet. So lets review, a 40 year old car with no AC or radio, across the middle of the country in the middle of summer. What could go wrong!

Cool! If you stop by in Tacoma, I'll comp you to a tour of the car museum. There is a right drive Mini locally that has a Honda V-Tech engine and some really pretty tubular control arms and flip up front end for access. Some serious workmanship on that suspension.

Good man, you'll have a blast! Anyway, real cars don't need AC or radio!

Original Mini's are worth a fortune now, really sort after.
New Mini's, blah same size as any other comparable car just misses the point.
Enjoy the trip it should be a blast.

Made it back last week without any problems. With no ac there was one day that the in car temp 105f. The heat did slow me down on some of the longer climbs thru the mountains. A couple of them were almost 4 miles long with temps in the mid 90's. The car can cruise along at 75mph with ease so I had lots of air blowing in the car.
A fun trip but don't think something like this will be on my agenda for a good long while now.
