Hi, I might have the Pro flex / Girvin bug , can any body help with frame size ,one on e-bay ,the seller says its 20" center of bottom bracket to top of set tube , will it fit ? I am 6 2" getting ever shorter , i ride a large Cannondale lefty and like the look and the idea of building and riding a Pro flex / Girvin fork , Thanks for any help.

Hi there
Hope you look through a lot of the postings about our Proflex/K2/Girvin bikes and equipment there can be a few difficult to source parts shocks MCU's and other OE equipmet that are no longer in production.
Sometimes New Old Stock MCU's will deteriorate so beware.
The good news
lots of info on here about keeping these bikes running at all levels of cost/time.
If you like to tinker you have found the right spot.
Many Stock restored, modded and or updated bikes here.
Frame size
I am also about your height and have had two Proflex bikes
Medium is about 16"C2C a bit small for me so I moved up to a
Large 20"C2C perfect for me
Proflex bikes have a quite long top tube for early MTB frames and long stems for the racer great when you race or are young a shorter stem and riser bars are very common updates.
Hope you enjoy
Ps you may need more storage space one is never enough

You will need a large at least. I'm 6'2" and that what fits me fine. However medium and large Proflex measure the same bottom bracket to seat tube, only the length of the top tube altered. The large being slightly longer than the medium. A quick search on here will tell you the measurements but its the top tube C to C you need to know.

Slight clarifications on the below posts.................(sorry to be pedantic guys!)
PRO-FLEX's come in 4 sizes - (except the OZ - only Med and Large) labelled as:
Small 14"
Medium 16"
Large 18"
Way Big 20"
note, you cannot measure the above inch sizes anywhere on the bikes!
My medium XP-X measures 20" from BB centre to top of seat tube (C2C) , but is referred to as a 16" frame and is perfect for me at 5' 8".
My Large 857 also measures 20" from BB centre to top of seat tube, but is longer in the top tube ("TT") and is referred to as an 18".
only a Way Big (referred to as a 20") will be taller as it has a longer seat tube.
I'd recommend at least a Large for you.
see this link for measurements for later models of bikes, I think a '98 Beast or Animal will be identical to an XP-X.
http://idriders.com/proflex/smf/index.php?action=media;sa=media;in=508;dl
Even if the '98 Beast/Animal was an x57 style bike, the main frame measurements should be identical to the x56 series.
Unfortunately they do not give a "C2C" measurement for the '98's but use a "C2T" measurement which as you can see does not differ between a Medium and a Large.
The main way visually to tell the difference between the sizes is the shape of the main frame, post a piccie on here or a link to one and I expect I can tell you which size it is.
