RDS CORSPRING for 856, XP etc
«

Whilst building my wife's new bike last night - I was searching for cable ferrules and found.... a box full of COR spring CNC components that some enterprising member of the forum may wish to combine with springs and get a few more bikes upgraded from elastomers.
The parts I've found (rough volumes):
+ 10 top hats
+ 10 rear cups which the bevelled groove (for 856 etc swingarms)
+ 25 front cups for the vector fork

thanks Col,
I'll check email when I get back later. I've got the dimensions and the spring rates for the cor springs kicking around. make sure that the front spring is progressively wound.
One of my customers managed to get a front COR CNC CUP to work with an 855 - the difference between the older 855's (remember there were two version) and the 856's was the connection between the swingarm and the shock - hence the bevel in the cup. However, i never actively sold to 855 owners because the lack of damping in an 855 shock would pogo the shock which would be quite dangerous with a coil spring.

Technically it's a
frustum
, not a cone.

I like the word, because of the explanation my geometry teacher gave:
"The word 'frustum' is related to the word 'frustrated', which in turn is related to the word 'castrated'. In this case, the cone has its tip cut off, thus frustrating it."
Thanks for that mental imagery Mrs. Smith.

That's very nice. Did the shock fit onto the original mounting points or have you altered/made your own?

I've seen this before but it only seems to work when using the Vector 1 top linkage arms (as opposed to the single, silver top linkage arm on the Vector 2).

Ah I guess the Vector 1 would have more room to fit the shock?
