Wanted: spring kit for front and rear ODS on XPX/Vector II
« on: June 29, 2012, 12:40:20 pm »
Hi all as complete noob to the forum - super to see such a collection of Grivin/Proflex'ana. I've found my way here having recently been given an XPX and am trying to figure out a) what it is :) and b) how to love it back into working order. *I love it!*
I have already put in some time fixing the Vector II forks (missing a bolt, chewed rubber washers etc). Now I am moving onto the shocks.

I have had a good look round and seems like DOA elastomers are common and I am personally not such a fan. So, I am hoping I can upgrade from elastomers to springs.

Here is what I have found so far...

- It also looks like spring kits are a bit few and far between (none on ebay right now)
- I see RDS don't sell any more for COR spring kits :(
- Risse replacement shocks are at least an order of magnitude too expensive  ;)
- I see a place in the US doing upgrades (http://www.nulifecycles.com/vectortwoupgrade.html) but thought I would ask you guys here first before going over the pond...

I would appreciate any help you can give about springs and spacers/top hat thingies as needed.
fyi, I'm about 75kg on a good day :D

Also, does anyone have any XPX specific info/specs/docs i.e. original group set/pedals/... it came with?

Very Interesting looking at NuLife, basically the same idea as a RDS COR kit, the idea is to accommodate the extra length of a coil spring and locate it properly.

Check out my posting for various info on the XP-? range as I am an XP-X owner too.

Or search on "XP-X" above right.

Basically a UK specific special edition of the 856.

Thanks Col :)

I've now emailed NuLife but not had a reply yet...  if I don't get any joy there, for next stop, I'll ask Callum if he has the dimensions for his washer/top hat combo so I can make some up.

Hey chris, last time I heard Callum still had a bag of collars but no springs for the cor upgrade. Im sure he'll sort you out with the collars if you can get a spring to suit. Contacting him can be a problem as he's not on this forum very much any more, but keep trying. If you have no luck, I have a RDS cor which I can do dimensions for you.
