..................With Proflex whether you have a m,l or WB all the rear tubes are the same length. The frame size only alters the top tube length............................Chris

You're partly right about the rear end of the bikes staying the same but I think you'll find that the "Way Bigs" have a longer Headtube as well as the longer Top Tubes, and the height of the top tube (C2C) and/or top of the seat tube (C2T below) does "grow" on the bigger bikes.

e.g.
1998 Beast
TT  CS   WB    HT   C2T  SO  BBH FR HTA STA
small 545 436 1056 125 475 745 314 42 70.7 73
med  570 436 1071 125 510 735 314 42 70.7 73
large 595 436 1096 125 510 732 314 42 70.7 73
WB   624 436 1126 160 545 730 314 42 70.7 73

1999 K2 Bike geometry
4000, 5000
TT    CS   WB   HT   C2C SO  BBH FR HTA STA
small 548 437 1050 125 453 695 300 48 71.5 74
med 563 437 1067 125 471 695 300 48 71.5 74
large 588 437 1091 125 495 752 300 48 71.5 74
WB   616 437 1120 160 523 752 300 48 71.5 74

But the most important point IMHO is that you set your bike up to suit YOU!
NOT what other people say it should be!

More or less. However, it is still worth trying other people's suggestions from time to time. Like, if you told me the ride position on my new bike would be more comfortable AND faster than the ride position on my Pro Flex, I would've had serious doubts. And yet, it is. You don't know 'til you try.

Except for on the way big 856 where the head tube stays the same as the others. Just checked the one in my workshop and it looks long!

yep, that why ive kept my medium 957 and 4500 that were advertised as large frames and have altered the seat, stem and bar to suit. Its surprising you dont 'really' notice the frame size difference, it they just feel much more flickable and a tad more upright ;).
Thats the beauty of this forum, people are not affraid to alter things from standard.

Just realised we have totally crashed Proflox's thread! Sorry mate!!

Happy riding all

Story of my life. Everything I own is either modified to my preference, heavily researched to discover that exactly what I want is available from the factory, or it's irrelevant and I wouldn't miss it terribly if it vanished. I look at people who have everything just as it came out of the box, and I figure it must suck to have to make-do with everything being just a little different than they really want. So glad I was born with an analytical temperament, even if it does earn me 5x more enemies than friends.

Both 856 frames.
Head tube on L and WB are both 120mm.
Seat post tube on L is 120mm and on WB is 165mm (to allow for higher saddle heights ?).
The WB is about 20mm-25mm longer on the top tube.
