Never seen this shock before?

It says its a GDT shock but that yellow elastomer looks huge?  It looks more like a plastic dust cover over the elastomer but why?

Not just ODD but WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!

a) GDT's don't fit Crosslinks, only Vectors, e.g. Beast GDT & 657
b) a GDT is 190mm long, a Crosslink needs an NR-x series shock which is 205mm long.
c) GDT's had springs not MCU's
d) never seen a MCU like that on any PRO~FLEX. Yes, maybe it's a cover for a spring?

Very, very, very possibly, this is a "hybrid" fork manufacturer produced with a correct length GDT, but I don't think so, if you look in the side on shot the lower link looks too compressed, i.e. the shock is too short.

I have sent a message to the seller advising him of the danger of using a wrong length shock and asking about the yellow thingie...............

Yes the yellow bellows thingie is a cover.  You can see the wire ties in the side view and the front view shows the two air/water drain holes.

Meh. The GDT is junk anyway, by the standards of any real shock absorbers. I realize there was a ramp-up that was necessary to build a market for high-quality shock absorbers on bikes, but the fact is, the technology used in modern bike shocks has been used in automobiles and motorcycles for decades. Now that we've at least got shock absorbers that don't use 1920's technology, there is absolutely no reason to go back.

Get a coilover or an air shock. Leave the rubber springs behind.
