Need help with headset cups for Vector 2
«

I am fitting a frame with a VECTOR 2 forkset serial #024433. Frame is 1 1/8 inch and the VECTOR 2 is 1 inch. I have the reducer bushings for the frame. What type, size, etc bearing cups do I need?? The VECTOR bearings are caged roller.
I alos need elastomers. Is there a supplier here in the states???

Though the Vector 2 had a 1" steerer, check out to see where the lower crown mounts...is there a step that would make it right for a 1 1/8 headset? If so, that's what you need, 1 1/8 headset.
All my Vector steerers have this step...on top you still use a 1 1/8 headset, but there's a spacer that you use to make the steerer seem like 1 1/8 to the headset...essentially a split, stepped spacer. See anything like that?
As for elastomers, there is Rapid Descent Scotland...but of course they're in Scotland. There is supposedly a maker in the US as well...they were mentioned in the last issue of Mountain Bike Action with a picture of a 955...but it's hard to recommend anyone but Callum because of his dedication to our group.

Hi you answered my question. There is a split spacer or bushing at the top bearing and the bottom bearing.
