Decal sheets or scannable logo files?
« on: September 09, 2009, 09:40:21 am »
Hello all,

I picked up a new frame (thanks again, Terry!) and am going to have it restored prior to being built up. I'm looking for '96-era decal sheets or any type of flat images I can scan, or image files that might give the decal maker what he needs. The frame's decals are essentially intact, so we have those at least...but I get the feeling that something he can feed into a computer would be more useful.

The guy has a ProFlex logo, but it's not quite a correct match, and I don't think he has the style-ized "P" for the headtube or the other images. Specifically I'm looking for all the images that might have been on an....er...956....um...LE ;-)

If any of you have original decal sheets, but don't yet want to part with them, I'd be happy to "rent" them for a bit.

Many thanks in advance for any help you may provide!

- Doug
P.S. - I've already reached out to Gil_M, and an looking forward to his response.

he's a busy man - be patient. He will come up trumps though. I've met him and he's a great guy :)

Yes, I've seen good things posted about him on so many different forum sites, Retrobike especially (that site seems to be down today, though). Probably my only concern is that the repros match the originals to the greatest extent possible. I mean, I'll even pop for the 3rd color just to get the "pulse" the correct red. :-/ I wont be happy about it, though, hahaha :-)

Ooh, just wanted to follow up here...received my new decals from Gil_M and man, are they nice. They look totally original, but I can't imagine he has an inventory of decal sets for the 956LE, hehehe. I can't recommend this guy enough. If I remember correctly each set was GBP 20. I bought (2) sets for the 956LE and one for an 856.

Well, before Gil_M responded to me (took a while) I had someone redo the frame, and he painted on the graphics...he did an awesome job, and the frame looks sweet, but the "LE" aren't quite to spec (he used the same font as the "956"). I'll use the decals for the next redo of the frame, should that point ever come.
