Carbon fibre at Bikehut
«

I know just mentioning the name Bikehut on some sites can get you a life ban but I think this is worth it. I popped into Halfords-Bikehut on sunday to buy a Carbon fibre XC riser bar. The quality and finish looks lovely and Ive noticed that the price had come down to £25, which looked good to me.
The cashier scanned them and said ' £10 please' ...... Being carefull not to smile too much I paid and walked out.....briskly.
On checking the receipt all looked normal, so I went back yesterday and picked another set. This time I asked the girl on the checkout to check the price for me. She said '£10' again. So now two of my bikes have carbon bars!
Whether this is a mistake or not I dont know, but the bars are clearly marked on the shelf at £25 and I wasnt going to question it. Either way the bars are full carbon fibre construction, feel lovely and are a near exact match for the carbon crosslinks and rear arm. They fit the original stem and im starting to sound like a Bikehut salesman - Which im not!
Seriously, if anyone wants a cheap price Carbon bar get down there before they realise!! And if youre worried about the Style Police, you only need two strategically placed stickers and know one would know
Chris

Right, I went back today and asked the lad at the bike section to check a few prices for me. It turns out Bikehut is having a clearence sale but they havent advertised or told anyone who works there ! Lots of things are marked down on price, but only when they scan them. But the lads working there new nothing about it. There's some bargains to be had for sure. I have three Bikehuts where I live and they all had the same sale on, so maybe its the same all over.

Less happy than you Chris but Mrs Tel got one for £15 and ran away happy, on the prowl for an OS stem to suit now though!
Many thanks, Tel.

Cool. I know there are no carbon OS stems in the shops near me, in fact there is nothing left at all
, but maybe some one else might have one in there local shop they could get for you?

If I can get Mrs Tel off the bike for more than 5 minutes at the weekend I`ll get a chance and have a look in the different Halfords around me. She did her ladies skills/training course yesterday (the one shes been promoting by nicking my user name) at bedgebury and spent today showing off to Robin and me at a local park! Still not a bad problem to have is it.
Cheers, Tel.
