Can I remove my crankarm?
« on: February 03, 2009, 02:33:37 am »
I have a Specialized Strongarm crankset that I want to powdercoat the arms. Can the arm be removed from the spider assy? It looks to be threaded but I don't want to crank :o on it if it won't work. Thanks for the help.

Is the spider threaded and bonded? You could mask the spider, but the heat may compramise the the bonding.

After I got it cleaned up nice I see a ring with 4 small holes it I think I need to unscrew first. So now I have to find a tool for that. It is soundong easier to just tape over the spider part.
