I get that clunk about once a year on both my 5000s. In my case, it comes from play between the bolt and the bushings. (Bolts wear down too - go figure!). I usually just wrap it as tightly as I can with teflon tape and cram it back into the bushings, and that takes care of the annoying clunk for another season! Might not be your issue, but worth a shot....
