full spec of my `roadie` is as follows, frame btwin (decathlon) cross frame, unknown 700c alloy forks, full sram x-7 gears, truvativ stylo gxp chainset with 48-36-22 rings, ritchie pro bars, ritchie pro grips, token carbon bar ends, ibis stem(from a mojo), fsa seatpost, deore vee rear brake, avid bb5 front 160mm disc, intake race seat, avid speed dial levers and 700c mavic cxp22 rims on coda expert disc hubs, deore cassette, with vittoria rubinho 25mm tyres. im thinking of putting a vee up front as the disc with skinnies on is lethal in the wet!

Thanks - The powdercoat was done by a guy called Dan at a company called PWS Finishing in Dagenham, Essex, England. He's well known in the UK for doing excellent jobs on bikes, mainly BMXs. If you are in the UK and want a powdercoat done at reasonable price you could do a lot worse than to check him out.

latest update on my roadie/crosser, got some lx flappy lever brakes and shifters, my opinion- excellent! theyre really good i would recommend, also got some knobblies for some off road duties, may not be a proflex or k2 but me likey!!

It's been a while since I've posted, but here's what I've been up to with the old girl this year--retro cross country racing, 1997 style.

I've had her in two provincial races this year and she's held her own against flashy new Cannondales and Gary Fishers. This is a shot of me during the recent Wascana Challenge race here in Saskatchewan, trying hard not to endo again. Despite the wonky form, I managed a win.

Mountain biking on the Prairies? Sure--we have reverse mountains. They're called ravines and valleys.

This is my Proflex. I hope the purists out there are not upset with what I have done to it. I got the Bike about two years ago from a buddy. He purchased it from the original owner out in Arizona a few years before I got it. He broke his collarbone on the 2nd ride he ever went on and the bike sat in his garage until I finally convinced him to sell it to me. I think 8 months of unemployment also helped in his decision to sell it to me. Since I got the 856 I have enjoyed getting it up and going. Picking out parts and putting them on has been kind of cathartic. Living here in Indianapolis not many people have ever seen anything like it so I usually get lots of questions from other riders. It rides like a dream and I have been riding it virtually every day to work and for fun on the weekends for the past year or so. Got a restored 1972 Schwinn Continental as a spare. Here is what I have done to the bike so far. I am currently waiting for a Risse Racing Terminator air shock to upgrade the rear end. Got new bolt kit and bushings for it to. After that I think I’m done. I appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Keeping it out and about is what counts. I think it looks great. I have an 855 I bought new. Been parked awhile but still love it. I would rather have something with some soul and a unique style. You have done good grasshopper.
