when i bought a Pro~Flex 1998 race bike a few years back (it was one of Beat Wabel's spares, WAY BIG )
it was outfitted, race ready  with an NR-1 rear and short, stiff Ti spring.

since, i have a Risse genesis that serves me very well.

Well, in the spirit of honesty, I have to give Callum (and you all) an update on my use of Ti springs...................

The front end of my 4000se with Carbon Crosllinks and an NR-5 was making a top out "clunk" whenever I went airborne, so traditionally, I ignored it for at least two rides "to see if it went away"..........<GRIN>

I'm doing the Marin Rough Ride next week on it, so I thought I'd better give it a little look to see what I find.....................................

alternative view

Oh Dear! A very Brittle Fracture!
Also the NR-5 has lost its rebound damping, so that was contributing to the "clunk"

Oh Well! Replaced with an NR-2 and a 215lb Ti spring.................

So Callum, you're right, TI is brittle, but hey, that spring has worked fine for 4 Years of regular use, and has given me full travel on the Crosslinks, so I can't complain!
But I recall you were trying to procure shock rebuild parts from Noleen J6, any luck?
Anyone got any experience of rebuilding an NR-5 ?  (or other NR's)
There were some RK019 Smart Shock rebuild kits on eBay US...........I think that might be the right kit? or is it for "Smart" slider forks?

Next is the pivot rebuild, 'cos that's creaking......................Hmmm, I wonder, what will I find?
