finally got around to putting stickers on her.
still thinking of getting it polished in the summer thou.
still getting my head around retro fitting a shock. possibly a modded ods.

anybody know anything about my gold/black lx f/mech??

that's looking great. If you work out a way of modding a shock let me know as I want to do that to my 753 and I have a couple of old shocks of varying types lying around.

the gold and black lx front mech was a coulour scheme shimano used for lx about 4 or 5 years ago you could get the mechs brakes and brake levers in that colour cranks were black with gold lettering and i think the vee brakes had gold coloured linkages hubs had the same gold lettering as the cranks, i think they only made them for a year which is a shame as they look superb.

got the f/mech from germany through ebay paid 9 pounds inc postage brand new. i couldnt get the old size anywhere so ended up with this by fluke.
didnt think it was that old as its a mega 9. thought it was possibly ltd edition or something?

Liking that alot Gerbil.
I once gave an MBK Trainer to Paul Donohue(local frame builder and painter) and asked him to paint it Bianchi Celeste Blue, however it came back approxiamately that shade of blue, he apologised and I said I liked it more, everyones a winner!
I've looked at the back end of my 752 a few times over the years with a view to putting either a Noleen or a Risse on it.
Just a case of fabbing a new pair of seat stays with a mount on them.
What put me off is the fact that the bike would lose its originality and the not knowing how it might ride once its done.
Maybe look out for a trashed frame only and then another look.
Nice 862 mind you.

Bought a 3.0L V6 Spider Lusso a few years ago only to find out a month later Mrs752 was pregnant with the first little 752!

Got about 6 months out of it before the bump was too big and PX'ed against a nice Beetle V5 Sport Edition which had to go when she fell with the second, damn them children!!!!!!!

Going to go and buy an Autotrader now

yeah tried risse but came up with this (yukk) throws out geometry.
might get in touch again see if he can shrink everything down to give me about 40mm travel.
definetly going with new s/stays and poss a rocker system to bolt onto top shock mount and onto pivot
mounted shock like kona style.if i cant squash owt in the rear (ooh err).
dont want to change owt i cant put back to normal (no welding of frame)

Thats exactly what I was thinking about, just shortening the seat stays to pull the Geometry back.
How did you tie in each end of the Risse? Does it have male/female threaded ends?
I do like what Simon did with his 856, very original, well thought out and finished.
Hopefully he'll read this thread and he can tell us what sought of travel and plush the ride is?

emailed risse with some pics of my bike after seeing a fitment for one on his online fitment guide.
picture was emailed to me from risse he supplies top brkt to adapt shock.
no idea whats on the other end.

yeah now i know who dennis is (blue crush) the guys obsessed with blue.
back in 93 i had 552 with vectors and everything was purple....bolts-hope hubs-chicken stix-use b/ends..
weighed about 25 lbs not bad in day when friend had clockwork orange (the black one) at 23 lbs no sus not even forks..
