I'm mighty pleased I havent taken that route!
I'm just ironing out the final bugs in my conversion with a 185 rotor on the front, the mounting plate is nearly 8" long to spread the load.

I wouldn't sweat it. This was a welding problem of some sort.

I locked up my front disk more than few times on my XLinks with my 210# carcass loaded on the bike. No problem - and that was just using JB Weld to mount the tab on the fork leg.

Hmmm, it looks like the fork really need some extra support. But it did not fold over, which is an encouraging thing. That leg could be repaired, which is what winning bidder probably has in mind. About an hours work, and some gussets would make a nice job.

Does anyone know what alloy designation alum crosslinks are built from? If they are 6000 series like 6061, then extra care must be made to not detemper it, and certainly don't stress the area before it has a chance to regain some of it's  aging. 7075 alloy is pretty idiot proof.
