Noleen MegaAir forks, some parts are available
« on: July 02, 2007, 11:39:34 am »
Called Noleen Shock service today and spoke to Clark.
They offer a full rebuild for $100, and have most replacement parts including slider bushings, and plunger parts. These parts will be additional charge, but it is comforting that they have them. Only wipers are not available. He said they don't need it.
I have a slight leak on my right side, and if I can't remedy myself, I may send off to them for the works.:-)

Rode the fork yesterday and am highly impressed. Very quick action, and plenty of travel now at 100 mm.

Cleaned and greased the innards, which slowed down air leakage, but still bleeds air only when active.
Hit the sweet spot on a rugged downhill section, and can really plant the front end down now without the teeth rattling I was getting from the crosslinks.

Fast and light, that is what the old 957 needs.

Glad you has success with them, (Mega~Air?) I have had nothing but a royal PITA with them on rear shocks. Maybe I just caught them in a bad two month period.

A rebuild for the Mega~Air.....hmmmmm! :-)

I wonder if the have grease fittings, too?

I don't know if they have grease fittings. But they did say all the seals except the wipers.

Now if only I could get new stanchions... the chrome is worn off one leg at seal interface!
That really is a sweet light fork with decent action.

ah, the fork that tried to kill me. Came off a 2-3 foot drop and the damping side of fork blew. The fork turned into an instant Pogo Stick dislocating my shoulder. K2 Gave me a free Rock Shock Psylo, but still owwww.
The Psylo is so much more plush, does not pack up under braking and only weighs a little more. I wouldn't spend much on trying to fix the Mega-Air. You could find a used Sid for the cost of that rebuild kit.
Parts left out cost nothing and cause no service problems.

Oh man! Sends chills up my spine just thinking about that!

Have not had any problems with my mega air yet. But it is interesting that K2 gave you a Psylo instead of a Mega Air. I don't do significant drops at my age anymore, so I think I will be OK.
