Just need some info on where to get pivot rebuild kit for my 856 (i'm guessing thats what it is)
Will get pics up soon.
Keep up the good work everyone, this is a great site!
Also nees to change sponges (more like rocks) to springs.

Pivot replacement kits - user 'Colin' may have some. Else they turn up on Ebay from time to time. Ironhorse may still have some too (see sticky for this).
Regarding replacement elastomers - if you have the ODS shock you cuold go for springs (see
www.rapiddescentscotland.co.uk
for these), or user 'SLIM' can get hold of replacement elastomers too.
I'm sure others will reply to this thread in due course too...
get that Proflex up and running!

Thanks for the replys peoples!!
mailed guys at ironhorse and they're trying to sort things.
Does anyone have an ODS rear shock for sale?
i want to update the rear end a little or is there another way?
I think the bike is a 855 and it has 'gls' on the swingarm.
Thanks
Jake

Orange;
Is that pic of the Risse mounted with there own adaptor bracket?
Is that the so called "Freedom Plate?" If so, where is it located on the shock? Obviously near the bottom area, but can you point it out?
I imagine that setup is pretty pricey.

yes it is pricey - have a look at their website, but they are good. The adapter is built into their shocks, and isn't a separate item.
The freedome plate thingy I think is a little widget that sits in the cone shaped hole that allows the ODS shock shaft to sit snugly into that mount. I don't think you can get them separately, you'd just need to see if somebody had one spare (sorry I don't!).

Pivot Kits for 855's and 856's
(RK002 World Cup Frame Rebuild Pivot Seal & Bearing Kit)
are available from Iron Horse in the USA, However, I believe they will charge you $60 to Post to the UK.
I imported a few kits a while ago and have some left.
£15 each plus £2.50 P&P in the UK.
Kits will fit the following bikes: x55, 756, 856, 657, Beast GDT.
I also have two Brand New, Never Used, spare Rear ODS shocks for sale.
IM me with your email address and I'll send you pictures and prices.
P.S. To all, I've still got some of the following kits in stock:
RK002 856 World Cup Pivot £15
RK004 X Link Seals £8
RK006 X Link & Vector Bearings £8
RK008 4000/5500 Pivot Kit £8
When they're Gone, they're Gone!

For $60 you might as well convert to real bearings. Follow the 'Pivot Bearing Conversion" thread. The Risse is sweet. It removes so much flex from the frame and is fairly plush. Mine is 7 years old and I have only had to put air in it 3 times.

the risse freedom plate s requierd for x56 bikes to "block" the cone depression in the strutso you can use the same shock as the x55 bikes, and is available seperately.I reckon the way to go is to get a shock for an x57 bike(if you have an x56 bike)This will eliminate the freedom plate. At least thats my theory, have never been able to confirm.(the x57 shock has a cone end)
