tel, theyre too long for an xpx, depending on the size of the home made adaptor (they dont have the cone mount for the strut bikes) i would say a shock of around 165mm i2i would be required. im thinking of making myself an adaptor at work when im less busy than i am now! if i get it made i could possibly run a small batch off if anyone would be interested.

I'd be in for a cone->eye adapter if you're making some up.

In case you missed out the first time, the guy is selling about 8 more.  I can't believe the difference.

Can anyone tell me if I can mount the shock in a x57 frame without cutting the frame? Does the thinner part of the shock fit the side plates of the frame as the noleen shocks?

as long as you dont have a small i think that you will be all right.Buy a short one though so you have some length for an adapter to fit the strut,o go the whole hog and go sfb(simons four bar)

8.125

another guy  is selling other lengths eg 7.5

Wouldn't it be better a 6.5'' shock instead? The noleen has 8'' to the end of the tapper. An adapter without the tappered lenght would have about 1'' long, being the total lenght about 7.5'', aproximately what the noleen has without the tappered end.
Wouldn't a 7.5'' shock raise the rear end too much?
I wouldn't like that to happen as the "dive" effect of the crosslinks would be more noticed.
The problem would be the short stroke, as I believe the shock is more difficult to adjust. I do not like longer strokes anyway...
I have to decide to buy or not to buy, before I take my blown up nr4 to put some new seals, oil and gas (about 40€).

Any sugestions?

Regards, Ricardo.

You can mount the shock chamber down and it should  fit. I elected to mount chamber upon my large 957, and clearanced the mount slightlly. I think it looks good, but that is me.

A 6.5 would give more length for the adapter, but most of the adapter length is"within' the length of the shock...a benefit of a shortr shock for the strut bike is you can slow the steering a bit.

The J-path on these forks shorten the rake when I am braking, making the front really nervous. So I swaped them from left to right to increase the rake. Much better now(and a little kooky:-)).

Since you have a Swinger, can you confirm the shaft diameter so I can check that it will fit the frame?

Will this fit on a 4000 without trimming? Can't pass up that price, I'm going to have to pick one up and see if I can figure out how to make it fit. Thanks for the link!

I'm down with acquiring one of these as well. Will it work for my 855?
