Will this fit an ODS?

I'm thinking of bidding on this - will it fit my standard ODS?

It will fit, but it is way too stiff, at 425 to 450 ft./lbs. The standard is somewhere at 300.

If you know how to OD grind it, you could make it softer.

Is it too stiff even if I weigh 190lbs? Are we talking rigid rear end here or just stiffer than average (I don't mind the latter)?

I guess I can't OD grind it as I don't know what it means!! (Unless OD=oustide diameter?)

I run an XP-X with a Mountainspeed MS-Pro 7 350lb spring on the back end ODS unit, I weigh 190lb plus riding gear.
The back end is pretty stiff on the road and doesn't travel much more over off road bumps, just a comfortable cushioning of the ride.

I used to weigh 220lb plus gear so it was a bit more plush then, but still not anywhere near full travel.

If I was going back to using the bike off road I'd probably look for a lighter spring, maybe 275/300.

But as it is, it's fine on the road.

From the write up, is it possible he's manufacturing these? I bought some from a guy in Germany and got them made to exact specs. Maybe he could do the same?
He's previously sold one for $30.49.

But you could always buy it and put on weight! ( I think you'll need to weigh 275lb! <grin>)

Also, I think it's a bit short isn't it? (3" 75mm) My Speedsprings are 88mm Long, and a standard ODS (i.e. without Speedspring Tophats) takes a 85mm spring with no preload or 78mm with maximum preload.
I wonder how long RDS (Callum's) COR springs are?

Right then! All this talking about it has given me a funny feeling in my trousers, I feel the need to wear Lycra!!!

I just bought one of those springs for my 855.  My last spare set of elastomers melted on the shelf without ever being installed.  For the price of that spring I can experiment a little.

My CORMR springs are rated at around 340 lbs for the first inch of travel (difficult to measure past that).  the Ti springs were used by racers in the mid nineties to stiffen up the bike (make it feel like a hardtail) and make it lighter - got to remember that back then that proflexes were seen as quirky on the international XC circuit with many riders not used to full sus.

I was looking after nora roesch's bike for a few minutes and it weighed nothing at all and couldn't compress the rear even though she looked like she was only about <100 lbs in weight.
