Okay, my bikes really don't compare to my kids, but I've seriously neglected my bikes, and they're lashing out. Since moving to a new house in June, I've been too busy to ride except for a couple of short rides. We had a leak in our basement which didn't get fixed for several weeks, and the excess moisture wreaked havoc on my Proflex 5000! Mostly rust on the chain and a few screw heads. Just to prove that I was doing a horrible job, my rusty chain rebelled tonight and snapped right in half! A link literally broke right in the middle. Fortunately, it was before I actually started my ride with my wife. Unfortunately, it happened while doing a nose wheelie in front of my 85 year old neighbor. Landed flat on my back in the middle of the road! (Not two seconds after he told me I was going to break my neck on "that thing"). Aside from the broken chain and my wounded pride, there was no harm done. Had to ride the single speed on some pretty big hills though!
