well i had my op yesterday and hopefully ill only have a few more days of pain and discomfort, i will have to keep off the bike for a while though and do no heavy lifting which should be interesting at work. hows your mams condition now matt, is she still making progress?

Glad to hear you're one step closer to recovery. Shouldn't be too much longer now... (Incidentally, I helped on a hernia op last week. It's been a while since I've done one of those!)

My mom is doing much better. Still on i.v. antibiotics, but she's been at home (at her mother's house - my parents are currently looking for a new home) for about 2 weeks now. I got to see her briefly after she arrived back in the states, and she looked well. Thanks for asking.

terry, the scar is four inches long! i was told it would be keyhole!! they must have some bloody big keys where my surgeon was from  lol
