Need Proflex for MTB Daughter
« on: June 05, 2006, 02:24:41 pm »
Hey y'all... Need to find a size SMALL *56 or *57 frame, partial build, or ready to ride for my 10 year old daughter.

She says she wants to ride and I just can't bring myself to go "mainstream" - even at the LBS! Anyhow, birthday time is coming and I better get building...

Hey there Will,

I will keep an eye out for ya. I have had the same issues with my wife and daughter.

My wife is 5 foot tall. I found a small 957 for her. She just barely clears the top tube, and the seatpost only has about 4 inches sticking out of the frame. But it works, and she looks so good on it. ;D

I bestowed a Gary Fisher Cake GS (Genesister) XS on my 10 year old daughter last spring. The top tube clearance is about 2 inches lower than a small x57, so it was the only size that she could ride and grow into. And grow she did, over 4 inches. Now is 5'2".

Of the 2, I love the small 957 more, but my daughter swears by her Genesister.
