I would supply the material to him. McMaster.com has 7075 rod for pretty cheap, and they can give you material certs too. You could have the material drop shipped to his facility after you pay with credit card. Or you could ask him to supply material and forward a copy of the material cert.

Easiest way to test the material when you get it is use a file on sharp edge of both 6061-T6, and the 7075. The 7075 will glide easier over the stroke. The 6061 will embed and not want to glide. Harder grades do this. Personally if I am still in doubt, I do a hardness test with a portable hardness tester. McMaster has these too. The 7075 will register a higher rockwell reading than the 6061. The other way, like on curved edges, you can use a spring loaded center punch like General tools produces. The center punch will leave a deeper impression on 6061 than 7075, and the spring action is pretty consistent.

Well, I am not sure you can import sketches into the CAD software that they require.

But maybe you just draw something simple and then ask to forward an attachment.

So I have the revised pricing back from the machinist. So for both the spindle and the 4 2mm spacers all done in 7075 alloy he quoted a per set price of $54. There are quantity discounts available, but I don't have the available funds to front a big upfront purchase. I'll snap some pictures when the goods come in. I have a K2 proflex 4000 and have had it since new at a time when it waqs a £2000 bike. I havn't ridden much in the last 10 years and so as a result it is in superb nik for year. All standard spec, only I changed the tyres to panaracer fire xc with red walls. There is the odd scratch on frame but nothing dramatic and largely still looks new. Carbon rear swing arm is mint as are shocks. Is there any interest with this bike as I am looking to sell in order to purchase a hardtail.

Once on the "Specials" page, scroll about half way down the page and you will see a picture box that is labeled 'Used swingarms for your trusty old steed'.

There is an old Proflex swingarm pictured along with a set of yellow elastomers. The description also states,

"We also have new bumpers for Pro-Flex that still move. Some Girvin fork parts and a bunch of small parts for Pro Flex’s'

Bumpers that move, intersting. hahahaha
