Ijust purchased a756 frame from ebay and im looking foward to building it up but im not finding many options for rear shocks,or springs are the struts different from the 856, if so how, and what would happen if i fitted it with a cor spring, ive seen lots of pics of 756's with rear springs anyone else with a 756 have any suggestions???

756 has exactly the same frame and strut as 856.The std 756 has a mcu spring and "friction damped" shock, the 856 had MCU springs and a simple oil damped shock. The aftermarket replacement alternatives are identical. You could fit springs to a 756 but i think you will have a very bouncy ride

It wouldn't be too hard to fit a modern air shock if you can get a little chunk of aluminum to cut up and adapt on the bottom end.

I ride a 756 with a stratos rear shock. It works better than the elastomers but is a bit heavy. Oh well, cant't have it all. Stratos has a website, the shock is a helix expert.
Have fun!
