Maybe I am barking up the wrong tree, but has anyone made their crossling legs longer in order to fit them on a 29" wheeled frame? I have the resources to weld aluminium. Can anyone tell me where to get the easton tubing? I have sold just about everything I have except my Karate Monkey. It is rigid. I thought it might be cool, and different.

Do you know if those legs are straight gauge or are they butted? I wouldn't think they would be. Do you know if you can get them manipulated like they are? (Flat on the inside) Do you know where I can get the tubing?

If it were me, I would buy a cheap set of crossllinks, and cut up .

I think even if you find tubing, you would spend at least the same amount on a used or closeout set of forks.

My scenario would be like this. Cut off the dropouts from the new set. Cut off the dropouts to your disk ready forks to graft onto the first set. Weld as such.

what about a set of longs drill a new set of holes for mounting to a std linkage....suitable reinforcing for the now empty holes.....

How about putting longer links on a set of Vectors for more travel?

Has anyone tried that? I've got a set in the shop that are just begging for modifications... [smiley=groucho.gif]

I was thinking about that too. I thought if you use a long headtube version, and find a longer stroke shock. Modify accordingly to fit (adapters whatever) you might be able to pull it off.

Have a look in my gallery.

I did that some years ago and it worked pretty good.

It was just a try performed with a some cut peaces of aluminum, drilled and machined on my lathe. Afterwards as it worked good I created longer legs on CATIA but up to now I didn't find time to let them build.
