That guy's idea of "high end" is a little warped. Looks like he got a frame, bought a bike at WalMart for $50 and swapped all the components, now trying to sell the Oz as a "high-end" bike. His "high end road bike" is a Trek 1200. RIIIIIGHT...

I doubt his reserve is actually low enough to make it worth the frame alone, but you never know. Sounds like he has an additional swingarm as well, so if anyone wants one, I bet he'd sell it after the auction ends (assuming the winning bidder doesn't want a spare for $40).

I agree that this guys idea of high end is a bit twisted.  I cringed when I looked at the spec.  I have never seen an Oz frame dishonored like that.  [smiley=disbelief.gif] If the reserve can be reasonably met, the frame might be worth it due to its rarity and apparent condition.   We may have to wait for the "new lower reserve!"  statement to appear when he gets no bids.

This guy is a joker. I bet his reserve is close to his buy-it-now.

"Ohlins", this is almost fraudulent. I have a notion to report him.

In my MX days Ohlins along with WP
were the top shocks though Fox had been before
but disappeared,
Noleen were also around as respected suspension
tuners eg shock and fork revalving, don't recall them
making there own shocks until there dabble in mtb.

I'm pretty sure that in the last couple of years that K2 used Noleen shocks, they were made by other companies under the Noleen name. I believe Ohlins was mentioned at one point on this forum, but the shocks in question were low-end crap, so I find it hard to comprehend... The other brand was... DMX, DXM, DHX, dang, I can't remember! Something like that...

I believe

Simon.

PS Ohlins are involved with the new Canecreek (super)shock.
Also Ohlins have very close links with Yamaha, abit like
Showa is with Honda.

That new Cane Creek is supposed to be awesome. Just looking at pictures and schematics makes me drool...

I actually emailed the guy on eBay and kind of called him on the carpet for his misleading description. (Anyone who knows bikes would never fall for it, but someone who doesn't know much could really get burned). He responded very rudely. Apparently, he was offended when I pointed out that all of the components combined were not worth $100. However, he did say that he has another unbuilt frame that he'd be willing to sell if anyone wants to email him. Also, he implied that his reserve is $499, not bad for a brand new Oz frame. If only I could get my wife to let me "upgrade..." Oh well, 6 years from now, I'll be able to buy whatever I want, without even mentioning it to her. (Not that I won't still look for the best deals!) 8)

The guy actually said to me: "These ARE ultra high end compared to ANYTHING you can get other than at a specialized bike store,, ok genius,"

Gosh, I had no idea bikes were so crappy AND expensive everywhere except at Specialized bike stores.
