Wow! and you can get a set of Lightweight Obermeyer wheels for a mere 3690 €! Of course, they are the best road wheels. A lot of the pros use them - relabeled with their sponsors' names... They are incredible wheels - strong, light, and aerodynamic.

Hey man this IS a bavarian beer mug, too.
But not one of those 1 Liter mugs we Bavarians have on festivals like the Oktoberfest and you found on the gift site.
This is a "Weissbierglas" and as it has that bulge it is a special one for alcoholfree weissbier.
Normally bavarians dislike alcoholfree beers but if having that wonderful mug noone would care for that.
I wonder if there is a version without that bulge?

Does anyone know if epoxy reisin is foodneutral?
If so, I'll have a new project to be performed!

Thanks for the education there! ;)  I was just going from how they listed it.  It has been 30 years since I was in Europe and what I remembered most was the big 1 liter type mugs and that might be why the larger one caught my eye. [smiley=beer.gif]  We were there when I was 13 and about two weeks before the Fest.  My Parents actually let me try the beers over there and they were actually good.  Not like most American beers that taste more like bitter water to me.   ::)

Interesting fact about the bulge at the bottom of the mug Dennis chose to post.

As for food neutral, I would venture to bet that it is since once it is cured as there isn't much that can eat into it. A person would want a glossy finish on the surface the food or drink would be contacting to prevent staining.

You're welcome!

Here, for some further education, you can see a "Weissbierglas" specially for Weissbier with alcohol in it.

http://shop.fcbayern.de/de/140/12/-fcb-Weissbierglas--/

So you can see this one is without a bulge on the bottom ;D ;D ;D

Love to give some bavarian related knowledge!!

In Muenchen steht ein Hofbraeuhaus!
Oans! Zwoa! Gsuffa!

Oh! What a stereotype! All we Bavarians do is drink beer while wearing those short leather trousers! ;)

Translate please!  I remember hearing the last three words in the Hofbraeuhaus that we visited.  I never knew what they meant though.  I believe that the Hofbraeuhaus translates to beer hall or something like that.

[smiley=groucho.gif]

Well!
It is a song which we Bavarians often sing while drinking beer on official festivals and having our fun.

The text is:
A "Hofbraeuhaus" is in Munich located.
one, two, emptied

or something like that. The Hofbraeuhaus is a fixed expression. It means exactly that beerhall existing in munich. To get the meaning of "Hofbraeuhaus" I have to say a bit more. "Hof" in this context means the old Bavarian royal court about one or two centuries ago. And this court had its own brewery. And some breweries used to have some kind of public bars. And the public bar of the brewery of the former royal court of Bavaria is this "Hofbraeuhaus"
A interesting fact about this song is that is was composed by a guy from Berlin. A prussian! Normally unthinkable for a Bavarian, because there is some kind of friendly enmity between Bavarians and Prussians for centuries. Not very serious but existent.
So how is it possible that the anthem of the Hofbraeuhaus is from a Berliner? I don't know.
I don't know if I express it the right way but I think it is some kind of ....
Imagine: The anthem of the Eastcoast would be comped by a guy from the Westcoast

And Matno:

A little off topic, but what the heck...

My first trip to Oktoberfest was from rural Italy. We'd been living with non-potable tap water and Peroni beer for over a year when we got to Munich... After drinking water straight from the tap we went straight to the Hofb. tent and witnessed the biggest party I've ever seen.  :o  Wow.

My wife was so stoked she downed TWO LITERS OF BEER in 15 minutes and went straight onto the olympic loop roller coaster. I declined. My two buddies that went on the coaster with her both puked while she laughed at them. (I love this woman!)

After humiliating all the men in the group with her fortitude, she made me wear one of those goofy "love cookies" around my neck the rest of the night. :-[

The Hofbraehaus tent is an amazing place...

Schade!)

Well it's safe to say Matt didn't drink a cerveza when he was at Oktoberfest! On the other hand, that's gotta be better mission assignment than say... Darfur. (Now I get the Utah connection.)
Hope you get a job at Moab when you finish the Dr. courses... Then again, who wants to see all the bad injuries? If you brought home any stories from work, the Missus would never let you ride!

Hmmm.. ::)

One of my buddies did a family medicine rotation in Moab last year. He called me every afternoon from the trailhead just to let me know that he was going biking. What a jerk!

Although the riding there is great, I don't think I could handle living in Moab. It really is the middle of nowhere!

You're right Will, no Bier for me. But I sure do love the Bratwurst! (And REAL mustard...)  :P
