My recent acquisition (vintage bikes)...

This is definitely off-topic, but, considering
that Proflexes are often referred to as
"vintage" bikes, I though I'd show off a
couple of very vintage bikes...
(from my gallery)
You wouldn't believe how smooth these things roll! And the Sturmey-Archer 3-speed internal hubs look and perform like they were brand new.
I will hopefully be doing a full resto on these.

How Very "Famous Five"
Lashings of Ginger beer anyone!!! [smiley=beer.gif] [smiley=beer.gif]
(that will be lost on the north americans among you)
I used to pick these up at recycling stations in New Zealand for $5 each, pump up the tires, repack all the bearings, & give em a clean then sell them on to Art & Music Students at university for $200 a piece.

Out of about 15 or 17 bikes the worst repair I ever had to do was re-grind the pins that hold the cranks on!
Bikes of steel!!!! [smiley=bomb.gif]
Cheers, [smiley=beer.gif]

A.M.F. - it is one of those English companies that got swallowed by Raleigh in the 60s. Both my bikes are late 60s, the red one is a Conqueror and the green is a Hercules.
I really like them. I was thinking of turning one into a chopper, but I'm not sure...

Chili,
AMF, I remember them.
They are still around, concentrating on things like billiard tables and bowling stuff.
for a while, they were huge here too. buying up companies like Voit and even Harley-Davidson.
I always thought AMF stood for American Manufacturing something or other.
great bikes, anyway.
