Well, I ended up with two (or will end up).  I'm getting a Romic Twin Tube and a 5th Element Air on Monday.  I think the Romic will it better, so the 5th Element will be for sale or trade.  It is purported to be the 7.5" I2I variety, but I will confirm that when I get it (it came off a Santa Cruz, so I believe it may be the 7.875"). Edit: It IS the 7.875 - I have it now, and it looks to be in great condition!

So, if any of my K2 bretheren would like the shock, make me an offer or...

Trade possibilities?  I'm looking to upgrade both my EVO and my new Salsa Caballero and need:

* 100mm+ (or adjustable) lightweight air fork

* Lightweight disc-specific wheelset

* 9 speed XTR drivetrain (not the new rapid rise!)

* Lightweight crank and bb

* Any Ultra cool bike stuff that I just cannot live without

What a terrible problem to have! Too many toys...

This weekend I was dropping down a series of two foot drops (stadium seats) and my rear shock just about sent me to the moon. It appears the old ODS damper can't handle 350# of coil. And there's no way I'm opening that cylinder up for an oil swap!

I finally sold that Kona you were sweet on so that's off the trading table.
Not sure what you paid for your shock, but we might work a swap for my crosslink EXP's with the disc brake setup..

It was a long day at the ballpark watching my beloved Red Sox crush the Texas Rangers [smiley=nod.gif], so it's off to dreamland.

The oil change is easier than you'd think.  sometimes can get a bit messy.  Did you break anything on the shock?  did you replace the black plastic washers?

I'm interested in your ODS spring because I was at the factory this morning doing the final bits and pieces for the new spring kit to fit on an ODS shock.

If changing the oil is anything like bleeding Formula brakes... [smiley=disbelief.gif] it'll go into the "someday" parts bin.

I'm actually using a 350# spring graciously sent across the pond by the master of recycling, Junkster.

The spring is just a little too stiff for my bulk, 205#. The ODS is in fine condition as it returns gently to full extension and has no play in the rod. However, hard landings are quickly followed by a slingshot to the sky!

I hope RDS will provide adapter cups for both ends of the springs. Dan & I have both used modified headset cups to hold the spring on the shock end. On the strut end I've ginned up a centering plug and a flat washer.

If I threw this up on ebay, I'd get close to $200 (US) (last one to sell on eBay went at $190 - see: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=42317&item=7151685786&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW).

If it doesn't sell here, I'll put it on eBay tomorrow.  I'm thinking I'd go as low as $125 for my K2 people, and I'm open to partial trades/cash scenerios as well.

Does that sound fair?
