When I bought my 856 they were advertised in the UK as a 25.5lbs bike, bit of a cheek really they were nearer 27/28lbs,having said that most manufactures are economical with the truth when it comes to the weight of there bikes,
anyway the 856 was and still is one of the best ever XC bikes ever built, glad I kept mine for the wife to commute on,still gives me the opportunity to ride it again once in a while.

Hey my 856 is 26.1lbs. (on my LBS scale)
Built with a blend of SRAM & XT and some carbon bars post stem and a good strong wheelset of Sun Rhino lts with xt hubs. Great XC bike nothing climbs as well.

Mine sits at 23 lbs with my lightweight tires. After a few more ti bolts, lighter brake levers and a couple other parts, it should hit the 22.5 lb mark. [smiley=nod.gif]
