more pics of new touring bike
« on: August 07, 2004, 05:29:23 am »
ok guys, here's a link to my bike painter's site that has many more pics of my new touring bike (actually my old Trek 930 singletrack that is being reborn).
It has some before and after pics.
I had Strong Frames add disc mounts so I can use Avid mechs on it. The frame, fenders, stem, and wheels are all on the way to me right now, I can't wait to get it built up and on to new adventures.
Let me know what you think.  [smiley=groucho.gif]

Nice!  The Avids and polished lugs will make it really stand out-now for some descents in the Alps to test those mechanicals out!!  Ever consider the Roubaix Rock Shox?

Scott,
thanks! hopefully, I will get to the alps.
actually, I never considered the Roubaix rock shox, I was able to get a NOS K2 Flexstem for real cheap for someone on the this forum (sorry I don't remember who it was, but thanks, its working out great and I had the middle part painted to match the frame).
The lugs look polished, don't they? actually, they're painted with something called "mirrachrome" paint. they look great, for some reason I was thinking about chrome, not polishing. if the mirrachrome starts coming off, I'll have to polish the lugs.

thanks again, Scott!! you should see the wheels, they match the frame color too and I also have custom brake rotors for the avids.
