Chain cleaning

I was out on a short, but very wet and muddy ride today. Afterwards, I had to service my pedal bearings and really clean the drivetrain. ...I probably need to service the bb too.
When I cleaned the chain, it was sparkling but still a little gritty and this is when I figured out a quick and easy way to solve the "grittiness" problem.
Hold the chain up by one end and flick it back and forth to create a standing sin wave (for lack of a better term). You have to be careful not to get the chain tied in knots and also not to hit yourself, but it worked extremely well. Just wipe it off once more and then repeat the process holding the chain up from the other end.
I had already cleaned and wiped the chain of excess lube before I did this, otherwise, I think I would have quite a mess afterwards.
