My VW is an '88 jetta turbo deisel. 407,000 km on it and still humming along. I have actually paid about 2.5X as much for my bike as my car (excluding maintance costs)
I think the hydraulic shifter is a great idea. Guess we'll just have to see when the manufacturer gets better. Think good thoughts everyone...

kiwi,
thanks for reminding me. I just sent an email to them to ask about an update.
its been 3 months since they said they might not be able to make them again for 6 months, but we shall see what they say.
I will let you know as soon as I get a reply.

Here is the latest, and sadly, the last update on the hydraulic shifter from The Machinist.
The person who put the hydraulic shifters together died of cancer a month ago. This is a really sad turn of events, obviously.
There will be no more hydraulic shifters from The Machinist.

That is very sad... about the cancer.
Is there any chance that they would sell or possibly share the design specs and drawings?
