When did they make the Smart shocks
« on: January 20, 2004, 06:48:19 am »
When did they make the first set of smart shocks. I am trying to remember when it was because that was the year I bought my 4500. I think I bought it in 98 which would make since. But still not quite sure.

I am in the process of rebuilding this bike. and I am looking for parts. my smart shock had a little accident. For about one month before it totally failed it started slowly leaking and firmed up allot. so I just took it apart. I didn't want to bother sending it away again.
Well I'm looking for a shock to replace it with. If anyone  has a working smart shock or an NR-3 or -4. I am very interested.

They were indeed made in 98-99 in the NR series form.  BTW, I've got a rear SmartShock that I no longer need.  It works great but it needs a nitorgen charge.  If you are interested let me know.

Hi Peter,

Well-what did you sell your K2 for, and what did you replace it with-assuming it's another bike?

I sold the frame with swingarm to Nigel on this board (ProflexGB is his username I believe).  I won't say how much out of courtesy for Nigel, but it was a fair price for the both of us.  I'm sure as he builds it up you will be able to check it out in his gallery.

Yeah, I did replace it with another bike, two actually.  The new main bike is a GT Ruckus hardtail, and I bought another(!) K2, probably not what you are thinking though, a DMC freestyle BMX bike.  Just when my roommate and parents thought I was freeing up some space, blam, another two bikes right in their faces!

You can check them out the Ruckus on my website and I'll try to get some pics up of both in the gallery here.  I still have the Beast though so I can still hang out here with no guilt ;)
