Can't see any advantage in that application other than a weight saving and looking cooooool,carbon is a bit more flexy, but can't see how that could be an advantage here,Simon

bayarearider, what color and size is your 857 that's for sale?

Also, going back to the days of the carbon Crosslink fork, carbon is considered to have a greater fatigue life than aluminum, and I would guess better vibration damping too, though for off road use this seems irrelevent.

It is red and size large. Does not include the rear shock

Thanks man.  I'm going to pass.  I collect certain frames, for no good reason.  A size medium or large fuzzy grape 857 is the highest on my list.  Already have a nearly mint, never built, red 857.
