thoughts on DH frames?

ok guys, I have the itch to pick up a DH frame for ski
area use. I have found two that fit the bill for me. I can get either one for just over a grand in small, which is my size, esp. for DH. They both have 8" of rear travel. Of course, I probably don't really need a bike like this, but have a really cool paint job in mind. this would be instead of my dream Phoes Phly. Getting one of these frames instead would save a hella lot of money!! Please let me know what you all think. I realize neither one of these is a K2, but K2 never really made a DH bike, did they? Although maybe if I get the Remec, I could put an "Oz DH" graphic on it, similar to the "Oz Road" graphic I could put on the Colnago carbonissimo! I really need to let my brain rest a while, don't I?
One is the Remec DH Pro, a carbon main triangle with Risse Jupiter 5 that is made in Slovakia.

The other is the Haro Werks DHR, aluminum frame made by Intense for Haro, with a vanilla RC.

Go with the Haro. Intense made plus more geometry options which become a lot more useful when you hit the real DH runs.

What kinda fork you plan on slapping on it?

I too would say go with the Haro. I haven't seen any Carbon DH frames out there. I know that the Haro is well made. I would reconmend you put a Shiver for the fork.

great minds must think alike. if I go for this thing, I would put a Shiver on it. Its the only DH fork I would consider, except maybe for a monster t, after doing the research on dh forks.
Prowler, yeah, the adjustability of the Intense-made frame is a really good thing. would help reduce my "bob-ness" a bit, adjusting everything myself that is.

Good choices on the fork. I'd say go with the Monster unless you plan on trying your hand at DH racing or if you just want to save a little weight. I have ridden both and the Monster is noticeably stiffer but its also noticeably heavier. Just depends on how/what you will be riding mainly.

There are a handfull of guys that ride the Haro on our local race circuit and its a burly frame.
