Oz road version?
« on: October 15, 2003, 12:49:23 pm »
ya know, I love the Oz design so much that I've been fantasizing lately about what an Oz road bike would be like.
turns out Colnago already makes it!
what do you guys think of this thing?

and what if one put these wheels on it? (my fav. by the way):

and then, there are these brakes:

I already have my dream mountain bike in the Oz, now if only I could afford my dream road bike!! Unfortunately, somehow I don't think ediscountbike is going to have either the frame or the wheels for sale any time soon, but one never knows.

I know, I know, I've had alot of time on my hands lately, time to ride and dream of new bikes.

Pedro,
yah, I am hoping that at some time in the next few years someone will be selling overstocks of this frame.
As it is, they are 4500USD new for frame, fork, stem, and, I think, seatpost.
how do you think one would look with a Blue Crush type paint job and an "Oz Road" decal on the top tube?
hahahahaha

Carbon, FSA carbon crank? I have one of  those "cheapies" on my Calfee. no, no, this thing deserves a Colnago or Campy carbon crank, about 800 USD. (prob. same as FSA, just cost twice as much!!)

As for road bikes, "give me Reynolds 853, or give me death".  (just kidding...I don't look at Penthouse Magazine or Carbon road bikes. Lust is a bad emotion.Dan.

i like the FSA 'cuz they make a 50/34 and if i put the 27 ultegra cassette on that's sittign in my garage...it's *almost* as good as the triple /25 on my 5200 right now as far as low end spread...don't need to spend the extra $500...thank you!  [smiley=laughing.gif]

Carbon,
yah, I was thinking about that myself. actually my comment about the FSA was just me being facetious.
I have the FSA carbon cranks on both my Oz and Calfee.
they are great cranks. I've bashed the arm on the Oz on a few rocks w/o any problems occuring. they are damn strong!!

Trevor, will do.

Now boys, enough roadie stufff. back to off road!!
